Job description

Business Context: Tata AIG is seeking experienced resource to lead a techno-marketing role for partner relationships and acquire business partners, Brokers, direct clients, Start-ups and form tie-ups with MFIs/NBFC/Agro-Input Companies for its initiative in Rural and Micro Insurance space including the parametric Insurance solutions.

Job Purpose: A partner/broking relationship resource is responsible for business development and client acquisition through Partners/Brokers. Maintain relationships with existing partners/brokers for distribution of Rural & Micro insurance products including Parametric Insurance solutions to different clients across different industries, which will include but not limited to Banks, MFIs, Agri-input Companies, Renewable Energy sectors, entities having interests in Plantation and Crops, Govt. sector bodies/departments/ministries looking for Disaster risk solutions etc.

1. Relationship Management with Partners/Brokers/Clients - Relationship management with the existing partners/brokers for distribution of Rural & Micro Insurance products including Parametric Insurance

2. Driving up busines numbers as per targets - Achieving the business target month on month through distribution team, partners and intermediaries for rural & Micro Insurance products including Parametric Insurance.

3. Onboarding of new Partners/Brokers - Developing and onboarding new partners/intermediaries into the system and handholding them for business distribution, through training, assisting with product knowledge and know-how.

4. Business prospecting with clients/partners/Brokers - Meeting existing and new clients for evaluating their insurance requirements and proposing them the solutions through available products in rural & micro insurance space. Business prospecting and development.

5. Coordinating with UW/Claims functions - Coordinating with internal Underwriting and claims teams for day to day business and client requirements.

Prior experience of product distribution, channel management, Partner/intermediary management, Sales/business development.

Functional Skills

  • Work with the functional teams and external stakeholders to identify the gaps in the existing rural & micro-insurance products being offered and to identify the business opportunities.
  • Work with licensed intermediaries/MFIs to undertake a thorough review of the Rural and Micro Insurance product(s) marketed through these MFIs.
  • Business prospecting and development with clients, distribution partners, intermediaries etc.

Channel management of different insurance channels viz. Brokers, IMF, Agents, MFIs, NBFCs, Banks etc.

Relevant and total years of Experience

  • Minimum 6-12 years of direct experiences in Rural/ Micro-Insurance or Retail/commercial products distribution in Rural areas
  • Experience and familiarity with the design and distribution of technology-based Rural and Micro Insurance products.
  • Experience in working with partners/brokers to distribute rural & microinsurance products

Experience with Parametric Insurance will be desirable.
